How to find . . . Milton Keynes, the Church, the Reception and the Hotel. MILTON KEYNES BY TRAINIf you are travelling without a car, Bletchley is the recommended train station. Regular trains connect to London Euston, Birmingham, and Milton Keynes Central from here. A taxi ride from the station to the hotel will cost approximately £10, and from the station to the Church, about £7. There is a station within walking distance of the Hotel in Fenny Stratford. However, only infrequent trains to Bletchley or Bedford stop there. MILTON KEYNES BY COACH (NATIONAL EXPRESS)MK has a National Express stop at junction 14 of the M1 (very handy if you live in Leeds). However, this is a fair distance from Bletchley, so con someone into picking you up from the coach station, or try catching a bus into Central Milton Keynes, and another Bus to Bletchley/ Fenny Stratford. MILTON KEYNES BY CAR MK is nicely situated between junctions 13 and 14 of the M1, and the A5 trunk road runs straight through the middle. I am sure you will all find it on a map! Once in MK you will be faced with loads of roundabouts. We hope you don’t get lost following Anna’s instructions!! Hotel: Holiday Inn Express East Lake Park, Tongwell Street, Fox Milne, Milton Keynes, MK15 0YA, 01908 681000. From the North, M1 junction 14 Come off the M1 at junction 14. Go right at the roundabout at the top of the slip road, onto the A509 to MK. Go straight on at the first roundabout, and then turn right at next roundabout. The hotel is the first left, but you will see the hotel easily. From the South, M1 junction 13 Turn left at the roundabout at the top of the slip road, onto the A509 to MK. Go straight on at the first roundabout, and then turn right at next roundabout. The hotel is the first left, but you will see the hotel easily. Map of hotel Back to top Church: St Mary’s Church, Church Green Road, BletchleyFrom the Hotel Turn left onto Watling Street from Penn Road. Go straight down the road, past Tesco. At the end of Tesco’s site, there is a large roundabout, turn left towards Central Bletchley. Go under the railway bridge and straight over the next roundabout. After the bus station turn right at the roundabout, under the bridge and straight on at the next junction. Just before the Eight Bells pub, turn right into Church Green Road. Approx. 250 meters up, just past Wilton Avenue on your right is a small track signed St Mary’s Church Car Parking. Please park here. The Church is the other side of the Church Green. Map of Church Back to top Reception: Eversholt Hall, Opposite the Cricket Club, Eversholt From the Church From the Church Car Park, turn left onto Church Green Road. At the bottom of the road, turn left, go under the railway bridge to the roundabout where you turn left again. Straight over the next roundabout by the Enigma pub, and under another railway bridge. At the big roundabout, turn right onto Watling Street. Go past Tesco, and past the Campanile Hotel to the roundabout on the A5 where you go straight on. Carry on the A5 towards Dunstable, taking the first slip road exit, following signs for Woburn, and Woburn Abbey/ Safari park. Keep following signs to Woburn until you get to the cross roads in Woburn opposite the Bedford Arms. Turn right, and continue for approximately one mile. The first left hand turn after Woburn should be taked signposted 'Milton Bryan' and 'Eversholt'. When you reach Eversholt, sweep round the cricket pitch, to find the hall on your left. |
